After the February's Valentines inspired My Beauty Box, they shifted their focus on organic, vegan and bio products for the March edition. This time it contains six products instead of the usual five, well technically it's seven, since it also contains a Lind chocolate bunny who met his end the moment I snapped the last picture. It's a nicely varied box with mix of makeup, skin care and hair care. Mine contained the following product: a sample of Lily Lolo Star Dust Illuminating Shimmer, a sample bottle of Khadi Ayurvedic Face & Body Oil Rose, full size Lavera Soft Lipliner 03 Red, full size Lavera Eyeshadow Base, a sample of Farfalla Nutri & Repair Shampoo Marron-Jojoba and a sample of Weleda Citrus shower cream. I believe at least the shampoo and shower cream type vary from box to box.

LAVERA Soft Lipliner 

03 Red

Strange they called this red. I mean it is a red, but a more complex one. It's a muted medium peachy-red shade, an interesting colour and I like it. The texture of the liner is nothing exciting, but nice. It's soft enough that you easily get pay-off without tugging on the lips and it's still firm enough to get a precise edge. It can catch on dry patches (most liners do anyway) and some may find it drying, but it's fine to me. The closest formula I can compare them to would be Catrice Longlasting liners, which I like a lot. Staying power is nice, it wears several hours, but it can get patchy with time when worn alone.

LILY LOLO Star Dust Illuminating Shimmer

I had to check what this is because I thought it was an eyeshadow/highlighter, but when I realised it's way too light to be that, I realised it's a subtle highlighting mineral finishing powder which can be used all over the face. It's tinted yellow in the pot, but that's not visible on the face, instead it has more of a champagne glow if you build it up. It's very subtle, so I think it's better suited as an illuminating face powder rather than a proper highlighter, as in that case you use up a thicker layer than of a usual highlighter. I quite like this because it looks very natural on the skin giving that soft focus glow, but shimmer may show up under strong summer sun.

LAVERA Eyeshadow Base

I don't know what this is but it's no base. It's very wet from the start, so you always end up with too much to apply on the eyelids. It then suddenly starts to dry into this film like layer that can flake off. Does it prolong the staying power of eyeshadows? It don't think that it contributed anything significant to staying power, certainly nothing like primers from non-natural brands. The packaging is great though, this is how I believe every eye primer should be packaged.

 I used Lily Lolo over the Lavera Eyeshadow Base as an eyeshadow.

KHADI Ayurvedic Face & Body Oil 

Rose

This comes in a 100 ml size, mine is a 10 ml sample. It contains a blend of rice bran oil, sesame oil, wheat germ oil, flax seed oil, palmarosa oil, jamrosa oil and geranium oil. What each does read here. Mine is the rose version and I really dislike rose scent, this one is no exception, as it has that awful, stuffy grandma rose scent. It's a medium consistency oil and it does what every other oil does, intensely nourishes the skin and improves the appearance. The quality of the oil is lovely, but I'd pick a different scent.

WELEDA Citrus shower cream

This is basically the same thing as I got in the last box, which was the rose version, but this is a much more pleasant scent to me. It has a scent of Alverde's lemon-rosemary body oil (Cellulite Körperöl), citrusy and uplifting. The texture is the same as at rose version, so like a thin body lotion that foams ok and is nice for dry skin. Likeable.

FARFALLA Nutri & Repair Shampoo 

Marron-Jojoba

Oh, I disliked this the moment squeezed the first blob on my palm. This is every Alverde's shampoo. That awful thin, slightly jelly-slimy consistency that doesn't foam or do anything really. I really dislike natural shampoos, I'm sorry. They just do nothing. The scent of it is annoying as well, that typical natural scent. I'm very demanding when it comes to shampoo and this doesn't cut it for my super dry hair. Farfalla is a Swiss brand and they have several versions of shampoo, which you can find here.

I talked about the January box just this month and that one was not one of my favourites, but they certainly stepped up the game with this one. In honour of the Valentine's Day month, they created a box with seductive reds and pinks along with romantic scents of roses. This box again contains five products: a full size lip gloss by Tanya Burr in Vampire Kiss, a full size nail polish by Revlon in Bewitching, a sample size of Weleda's Wild Rose Creamy Body Wash, a travel size Batiste Dry Shampoo in Cherry and CMD Naturarkosmetik Rose Exclusive Pflegemaske. 

Shades of Tanya's lip glosses in boxes differ as do of Revlon's nail polishes and versions of Batiste dry shampoo. Lip glosses in the boxes are Daydream, Enchanted Forest, Berry Picking, Exotic Island and Vampire Kiss. Shades of Revlon nail polishes are Pink Nude, Bewitching, Vixen and Plum Seduction. Batiste dry shampoos come in different versions too, I've seen Blush in one of them, but the picture also shows Original and Tropic.

TANYA BURR Lip Gloss

Vampire Kiss

I think this is actually already discontinued and the whole brand went through an overhaul, so won't do my usual proper review because it's a waste of my time. I checked Feel Unique and this shade definitely isn't sold there any more, though some of the new lip glosses still have the same names. I actually already bought two of these a couple of years ago, but they weren't for me, regardless I think my friend didn't like them very much. I'm not a fan of lip glosses in general, but these are really not my cup of tea.

The texture is incredibly thick, though not sticky, and the thickness does help in the longevity department, however, it bleeds. The latter shouldn't be a biggie at light shades. The finish is glossy, but not completely like a mirror shine as at for example Dior's Fluid Sticks. These glosses smell like Fru Fru sweets, the strawberry version in particular. The packaging is nothing special, very basic as is the applicator, which is a flat medium-sized doe foot. They aren't bad, but I'm not blown away by it.

Vampire Kiss is a deeper more cool red, a very simple shade that isn't quite opaque, but close.

BATISTE Dry Shampoo

Cherry

I'm a fan of Batiste, but I don't actually care how well dry shampoos perform in terms of absorbing oil, since my hair is never greasy. All I care about is the fragrance and volume. This one smells like cherry blossoms, which surprised me greatly. I always assumed it smells like sickly sweet like cherry candy, but this one's scent is a floral version. Maybe they should call it cherry blossom instead. It's fresh, floral and feminine - I like it! It my favourite Batiste so far. It is one of those shampoos that feels most powdery, hence why I assume it's probably the best choice for sorting out oily hair. It's not too white on my dark hair and whatever is there, I simply brush it out. 

I have the Wild version as well and that scent is very heavy oriental, more appropriate for cold months. I also used to have the Tropical version, which smells like coconut.

WELEDA Wilrosen Verwőhn-Cremedusche

I'll start by saying that I absolutely abhor rose scent. Those granny rose ones that is, not the real scent of roses that grow in the garden, but I've never found a product that would smell like the real deal. This creamy shower gel had the awful granny version when I opened it, so naturally I had a hard time convincing myself to use it, but I did nonetheless. Under a shower it a different, less rosy scent and it reminds me a lot of a face wash I used as a teenager, it was Dr. Scheller Zitronenmelisse Waschgel if anyone remembers it. Basically it's a more citrusy herbal scent. The texture is like a lotion, thick, but runny and it doesn't foam much, but it does feel nice for dry skin.

CMD Naturarkosmetik Rose Exclusive Pflegemaske

Yet another product with the awful rose scent. I've never heard of this brand, nor do I know where to buy it, but it's a nourishing face mask for dry skin that you apply instead of a moisturiser in a thick layer and you can go to bed with it. The ingredients are lovely, it's clearly a very nourishing blend of almond, avocado, olive and rosehip seed oil, as well as shea butter. It's a medium consistency, so not terribly thick and it's easy to apply. My skin isn't dry this winter, but it felt nice on my skin. I don't have any dry patches, so I could see if this heals them, but I assume it would. It's 100% vegan.

No, I didn't make a mistake in the title, even though December is gone, but I got this a couple of days before Christmas, so have an excuse why I'm showing you last month's box only now. My Beauty Box Slovenia surprised me with a Christmas gift, which is very kind of them (actually my only Christmas gift last year, apart from the Milani blush) and they even customized it a bit, so it would be more to my taste and now I have an opportunity to show you a product from a brand that is joining their selection soon. I already talked about the whole box system in Slovene in my previous post about them, but it's the same deal again, you pay a monthly subscription and you receive a combination of five samples and full sizes each month. The price of the December box was 15 € plus shipping.

I felt the previous box was missing that little bit extra and I think I got it in this one. Mine included three full size products: Weleda Buckhorn hand cream, Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick and Essie's nail polish, along with a sample/votive size Yankee Candle and a sample of Ginvera BB cream. Included was also a chocolate Lint Santa, which didn't survive long after I took the pictures. I was completely overjoyed about the nail polish because it's exactly what I've been looking for, but more about it in individual reviews. The box is the same as the first one, so a nice quality violet box that you'll want to keep for organizing your collection or anything else.

ESSIE Nail Polish 

Summit of Style

I already included this nail polish in my favourite products of 2015. You may find me rash for including it in my selection, but it truly was love at first sight and I've worn it for Christmas over a navy nail polish (picture below). Summit of Style is a part of the Luxeffects line and it's a bronze shimmer that is a mix of small glitter particles and larger hexagons. It's more of a top coat with medium dense shimmer, however, you can built it up, though making a perfect fully opaque layer is time consuming as well as difficult because you end up with too much of that clear base. It can be done, but some bald patches are bound to happen. The effect of it is stunning, it's way better in real life than in my pictures, so go check Pinterest for manicures with it for a better idea of how it looks. Of course, it is the type of nail polish that is excruciatingly hard to remove, as those hexagons stick to the nails like glue even if you use one of those pot removers, but I think it's worth.

RIMMEL Moisture Renew Lipstick

330 Sloane's Plum

I was told I'm the only one who got this lipstick, so I had the chance to test it before they official add the brand to their website. Rimmel is a lovely drugstore brand that someone appears to be hell-bent on it not to be sold in Slovenia (any more. We used to have it over 15 year ago), but My Beauty Box is bringing it on our market. I've decided to a separate review about this lipstick, which you can find in my next post, but just a quick recap: Sloane's Plum is a vampy plum shade with a very moisturising formula and good pigmentation.

GINVERA Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream

I already received this BB in my previous box and I said I liked it, though the shade is quite dark. I'll save it for the summer, when I'll start self-tanning again. I just copied the review from my previous post:

I remember a British blogger raving about this, about how it's her HG base, but I don't know who it was. The box contains an 8 g sample, which is a decent size, however, the tube is not full - still it lasts quite a few applications. It comes in only one shade, which is just lazy, how could you possibly expect that it will fit everyone? It's quite a dark shade from my perspective. It's darker than my darkest foundation Catrice's Nude Illusion in 010, but at least it's a neutral shade and it didn't end up looking too off on me also because of the coverage. The latter is light, with additional layers it can be built up to light-medium, but you'll definitely need concealer for under the eyes, redness and spots. The texture is very light, it blends beautifully and sets fast, in fact it reminds me of a less greasy version of Missha's Signature BB Cream. It looks very natural on the skin, it just sort of melts into the skin and it has that Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum effect, where it's not obvious you're wearing anything. I really like how it looks on the skin, only it sometimes looks a bit weird on my pores, but I think this has to do with my skin condition and not this BB. It has a strong, but pleasant scent of green tea.

WELEDA Sanddorn Handcreme

Sea Buckthorn Hand Cream

I was never a fan of hand creams because I hate that greasy feeling and I so rarely use them. I expected this is be such a greasy, heavy cream because natural brands like Weleda tend to have such products, but even though it is a thick, intensely moisturising cream, this magically just sinks in under a minute. I don't think I've ever tried anything like it. I'm able to be behind the keyboard again in less than a minute. It leaves a sort of a film on the hands, but not a greasy one, rather almost powdery. It sound strange, I know, but it's nice. The second thing I was concerned about was the scent, since I really dislike the "natural/organic/bio stuff" as they mostly smell herbal or just strange, but this one surprised me with a pleasant scent of oranges, though there is that familiar herbal note in the background. The packaging is a metal tube. Uncommon words for me, but I quite like it, despite the fact it's a hand cream and a natural one. 

YANKEE CANDLE Red Apple Wreath

I already burned this for New Year's Eve. It had the most typical Christmas scent of apples with cinnamon, but mixed in was also a strong bubble-gum note. It filled the room(s) nicely and people kept asking what the lovely smell was.

This is going to be one of those post where I just write a slew of mini reviews of products. Firstly, two showers gels I recently purchased, Fenjal Intensive Creme Duche and the second one is one of Balea's (Cocos and Tiareblüten). I bought the Fenjal one because of the packaging. I absolutely adore the colour and I just wanted something in that colour in my bathroom. The product itself is actually a pretty good shower gel. It has a bit thicker formula, which I prefer in shower gels, is very gentle and doesn't dry out the skin. The scent is very mainstream soap type, it's the same type of scent as Dove soaps. The second shower gel, Balea's Cocos and Tiareblüten, has a great coconut scent, very authentic and lovely. The formula is a bit thin as with all Balea shower gels.  

Greenland body butter in Mango is one of my favourite body moisturisers. The scent is so amazing, it's a sweet tropical-fruity scent, I don't know if it's authentic mango scent though. The pot is very small for the price (100g for about 8€), but it's quite an intensive moisturiser. 

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration line is my new drugstore discovery. The shampoo is very moisturising and is just brilliant for those who have really dry hair like me. The mask is also very moisturising and all in all very good especially for the price (both products are in the 2-3€ range). But the best part is the scent. It's a very tropical, coconut + fruit + candy scent that lasts on the hair for a really long time. Highly recommended.

I already wrote about Weleda lavender oil in one of my favourites post. After owning a small sample bottle, I purchased a full size product which is a 100ml bottle for about 9€. I love the scent of lavender and this has a really authentic lavender scent. It also absorbs quickly for an oil.

I've had the Soap&Glory Heel Genious foot cream for a while now and it's ok. Nothing particularly special, in fact I wish it was more moisturising. It's a light blue colour cream/gel with a very fresh-floral scent. Won't repurchase. I have my eye on the Burt's Bees Coconut cream next.

After my Balea serum fiasco, which really dried out my skin (as did Neutrogena grapefruit cleanser, horrible stuff), I purchase Cicaplast by La Roche-Posay, which is supposedly good for dry patches. I like it a lot. It has a gel consistency but it quite thick. It's not the easiest thing to apply, but it dries to a mat finish, it feels like a primer and is good for under the makeup (Lisa Eldridge used it as a primer in one of her videos). It doesn't have any scent. As far as the effects go I can't say much as I only been using it for the last couple of days, but the dry patches are almost gone (forehead is fixed, but the tops of my cheekbones are still dry). It was about 11€ (40ml) in the local pharmacy.
