New in 109: Catrice Clean ID

torek, junij 15, 2021

A limited edition collection by Catrice that is (here) exclusive to DM, but they have a permanent line Clean ID that is what they say "worry free", so don't contain stuff that Catrice thinks worries us consumers such as that utterly horrifying mineral oil & super scary silicones that pharmacy brands use without concerns. This collection is much larger than the stuff I got - there is makeup (eyeshadow palettes & other eye stuff, highlighters and bronzers) and several more skin care items, as well as face brushes.

CLEAN ID Pore Perfecting Primer

Strong performance and clean ingredients: The Clean ID Pore Minimizer Primer refines the pores and creates a smooth, flawless complexion. This pore-refining primer was developed especially for sensitive skin and does not contain any silicones or perfume. Its ingredients are of 98 percent natural origin. It can be used as a base underneath foundation or worn "pure".

There is a permanent primer with the same name and the same ingredients list in a white/pale blue tube. It's silicone free, but it has silica as the first ingredients after water. It's less dry and thinner than the silicone based Prime And Fine Poreless Blur Primer Goodbye Pores that I got a while ago in the hopes it will hide pores (it's not the best, but more matte than this, so it hides the shine around the pores). This has a nicer texture that's more moisturising at first and it creates a smooth base, however, I don't see a lot of difference on my pores. I get some flakes between my eyebrows, so it's another formula that's not best suited for my dry skin, at least not with a more moisturising base, but I don't know how well it holds back oil on oily-combination skin. On me it becomes very matte latter in the day and I need a mist to add some moisture. It's tinted light peach, but it's not pigmented enough for the colour to have an effect. It creates a smooth canvas for foundation, it might be decently mattifying on skin with oil, but pores aren't hidden well with this.

AQUA (WATER), SILICA, C13-15 ALKANE, C15-19 ALKANE, POLYGLYCERYL-3 DIISOSTEARATE, GLYCERIN, POLYGLYCERYL-6 OLEATE, DICAPRYLYL ETHER, DISTARCH PHOSPHATE, JOJOBA ESTERS, GLYCERYL BEHENATE, MAGNESIUM SULFATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, TRIHYDROXYSTEARIN, LYSINE, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED WAX, POLYGLYCERIN-3, ACACIA DECURRENS FLOWER CERA (ACACIA DECURRENS FLOWER WAX), TOCOPHEROL, POTASSIUM CETYL PHOSPHATE, CETYL ALCOHOL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, XANTHAN GUM, ETHYL VANILLIN, LECITHIN, SODIUM LAUROYL GLUTAMATE, ASCORBYL PALMITATE, MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE, ALCOHOL, ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE, DIPOTASSIUM PHOSPHATE, CITRIC ACID, PHENOXYETHANOL, CI 77491 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77492 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE)

Clean ID Matt Prime & Fix Spray

Absolute all-round talents: The Clean ID Prime & Fix Sprays prepare the skin for foundation, moisturize and visibly smoothen out any unevenness. They also set your make-up look in place for a brilliant finish. Between digital meeting marathons, home workouts during your lunch break and video calls with friends, the sprays can also be used to refresh the skin. The Matt Prime & Fix Spray has a soothing effect thanks to aloe vera, while the Glow Prime & Fix Spray with rose petal extract hydrates and provides a boost of freshness.

There are two sprays in this collection, the other Prime & Fix spray is like the primer above also a part of the permanent collection, while this isn't. I don't like the look of the ingredients list, as far as I'm concerned alcohol so high on the list should not be a thing in skin care (now that's the ingredient that does worry us consumers). This has such a fine mist, Catrice really did a great job with the atomizer. I have two of their other sprays and they have the poorest sprays in my small collection, so this is a great upgrade. It promises a matte finish and I gave it two tests. One was over a shiny sunscreen with nothing else to see if it can handle mattifying like it promises. The answer was no, my skin was still shiny after an hour, so this didn't help, but my skin eventually became mat by itself. Second test was over classic makeup that was set with some powder so I could see if it can create a smoother looking finish. In this case it set the makeup well, made it less obviously makeup-ey, but in time my skin became too dry and a bit uncomfortable. So I suspect it's a decent mist on oily skin to go over powder, but given it has alcohol so high on the list, I'd recommend you instead pick their highly rated purple Prime And Fine Multitalent Fixing Spray or the pink spray from this collection, since it has a great fine mist.

AQUA (WATER), ALCOHOL DENAT., CENTAUREA CYANUS FLOWER WATER, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE, SODIUM PHYTATE, LACTIC ACID, CITRIC ACID, PHENOXYETHANOL, POTASSIUM SORBATE, SODIUM BENZOATE

Clean ID Peeling Enzyme Powder

This enzymatic powder peel removes dead skin cells and excess oil, exfoliating gently and without irritation, thanks to its plant enzymes. In addition, it cleanses the skin in depth, clarifying and regenerating it. Get a clean and smooth face with this Catrice peel. This product does not use microplastic particles, silicones, or mineral oil. How to use: Put a small dose of the product in the palm of your hand, mix it with about 3-4 drops of water and apply to the face. Leave the product to act on the skin for about 5 minutes and rinse well with water.

I had this on my wishlist, but it's not what I expected. I thought this will be a dupe for Miss Alice You Future Looks Bright Enyzme powder, which on me works like a mechanical peeling as well, leaving it very smooth, but this Catrice one has zero grittiness. It's s powder that when mixed with water creates a smooth emulsion. It's completely clear on the face, it starts to dry fast and my the end of those 5 minutes my skin is tight. After I wash it off I see no difference, it's like I used nothing. The enzyme in this is papain. Maybe it's more effective on those that aren't used to strong acids.

INGREDIENTS: ORYZA SATIVA (RICE) STARCH, TAPIOCA STARCH, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, SODIUM MYRISTOYL GLUTAMATE, AQUA (WATER), SODIUM CHLORIDE, MALTODEXTRIN, XANTHAN GUM, PAPAIN, SODIUM DEHYDROACETATE, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE).

Clean ID Carrot Glow Face Oil

Here comes the power duo for a flawless, smooth complexion: The Carrot Glow Face Oil offers a rosy, fresh glow and the Hyaluronic Boost Serum nourishes the skin with an extra portion of moisture. The Face Oil and Serum make do without silicones, mineral oil, micro-plastic particles, parabens or PEGs. Both come in a high-quality glass flacon with a practical pipette – and are absolute highlights in any skincare collection.

A very light and liquid formula with soy, almond, jojoba, avocado, camellia, sunflower and carrot seed oil, as well as a very small amount of vitamin C at the end of the list. It pairs well with the Gua Sha because it's so thin, but I don't find it the most nourishing oil and most of it absorbs quickly. It has a gentle sweet scent.

ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE, DICAPRYLYL ETHER, GLYCINE SOJA (SOYBEAN) OIL, PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS (SWEET ALMOND) OIL, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL, PERSEA GRATISSIMA (AVOCADO) OIL, CAMELLIA JAPONICA SEED OIL, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS HYBRID OIL, DAUCUS CAROTA SATIVA (CARROT) SEED OIL, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, TOCOPHEROL, CAPSICUM ANNUUM FRUIT EXTRACT, ROSMARINUS OFFICINALIS (ROSEMARY) LEAF EXTRACT, BETA-CAROTENE, DAUCUS CAROTA SATIVA (CARROT) ROOT EXTRACT, ASCORBYL PALMITATE, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE)

Clean ID Gua Sha Lifting Face Stone

With its unusual shape, the Gua Sha Lifting Face Stone sits comfortably in the hand – ideal for a soothing facial massage. The massage stone is made of aventurine quartz, which cools the skin and reduces swelling in the face. Serums, oils and face creams can be perfectly massaged into the skin with the stone to further enhance the skincare effect. Beauty spa at home, here we come!

I actually have a Gua Sha already, a pink quarz one, which is a bit thicker than this one, but the shapes are the same. It's nice to see we now have this in the drugstores, it gives a chance for people that don't buy online to also get their hands on one of these. Though this is thinner than mine, it doesn't feel anymore fragile and I like it a tiny bit more because the edge is not so thick. I try to do the whole drainage massage regularly, but with my skinny face these stones are not as pleasant. I've been doing massages for a while now (I have several different massagers) and honestly I really don't see what the fuss is about. Maybe if you have a puffy face in the morning, which I never do, they help, but visually I see no difference on me.

Have a great day!
